Alienware MX17 R4

Hello guys,

I have a choice buying my friends 3 year old Alienware MX17 R4 for maybe 200-300 pound.
You may ask...why so cheap well....apperantly the graphic card is not working anymore.

The question I have here is, is it worth to get it, buy another graphic card such as radeon 7970M. I think that is the one he had now. Would you go for something like that ?

In terms of graphic cards for Alienware is it simple swap ? I had in mind swapping for same one - 7970M.

Look online and see how much the video card is, if the total cost if about half or less of what a new system is, it's worth it. The card should come out pretty easily, open the case and see.

For $900-1000 USD you can get a new faster laptop with a warranty, so if it's more than half the cost, I would probably skip it.
