Am I allowed to record a video in 480p and then render in Sony Vegas to 1080p quality?

I was making a video and then I realized it was in 480p. I went to Sony Vegas to render it in 1080p quality so I could upload it. Does it make the video in 1080p quality? I didn't render yet because I wasn't sure.

No; the video quality will still be the same as the original 480p recording.

Additions you've made in Vegas would be 1080p-quality, though.

Do you know anything that can make my videos from 480p into 720p or 1080p? I really need it because of my videos I'm making and people keep telling me that not much people watch video in 480p anymore.

It'll say 1080p. It still looks like 480p. You need a higher resolution camera.

your original video needs to be in high res, otherwise converting it to high res will just stretch the pixels.

Set your camera to a higher resolution, or buy a better camera.
