A couple of people have said they contact Amazon and they said it's not true, so who knows.

In reality, who can blame them. Google Store doesn't sell FireTV, they push their own eco system and Google Play Movies and Music. Apple Stores don't sell anything but AppleTV and will push their streaming services, so why should Amazon cater and sell other peoples devices that directly compete with theirs. Dodge dealerships don't sell Fords.

Google store isn't a generic shopping site, that's exactly what Amazon is...or is supposed to be.
