Amd driver crash and recover so often and basic games crash because of the gfx.

Hi all could anybody tell me the best driver software for R5 graphics?

I have a hp pavilion 15 notebook: product number G7V99EA#ABU.

Often I get the (what seems typical) 'display driver stopped responding and successfully recovered'.

From any amounts of reading I know this is a basic machine which is fine I only use it to watch films and skygo really although the one game I play a lot is Football Manager (now 16) but this game seems to freeze up and I have to end the process to close it.

I know that my machine isn't great but it way above the spec of the game, it runs really smoothly then out of nowhere will crash. I've uninstalled and re installed lots of different drivers for this integrated r5 device.

Some people say to stick with the windows drivers but it doesn't seem to run very well so I've tried the AMD drivers and they also don't seem great. ,(,I've both automatically detected and manually installed different drivers).

Just to add I reset my laptop to factory settings and its been hit and miss just as before I done that.

I've added an additional 8gb ram module to give it maximum it can hold (as per crucial website).

Hi,

May I suggest doing a clean install of AMD graphics driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the AMD graphics driver.
- The in Programs and Features uninstall anything related to your AMD graphics.
- Download and install the latest driver there is from AMD site.
- http://support.amd.com/en-us/download, just do the automatic download.
- Once installed reboot your laptop and after it rebooted make sure to set your games to run using AMD processor that you do in CCC.

Hope this will help.

thanks for the reply, I've tried uninstalling a re installing quite a few different ages drivers and each gives me the same issue really. I haven't tried setting a game to run with ccc so I'll try that this time!

Hi yeah I've had DDU to remove all contents of the drivers then ran CCleaner then installed latest drivers.

A few times when the laptop has gotten pretty bad and had to bed restarted a couple of time I've had a blue screen saying there's been and error "video_tdr_failure atikmpag.sys"

That's not good news. It looks like you may actually be having a failure in the mobile GPU itself. It's no driver error. The GPU is failing to start due to some kind of corruption.
