Basically is this a true Graphics Card or a Chip Set?

The Toshiba L855D-S5114 comes w/ a AMD Quad-Core A8-4500M Accelerated Processor with AMD Radeon HD 7640G graphics w/ 4GB DDR3 memory.

*1.9GHz (with Turbo CORE up to 2.8GHz)
Also is this something I turn on or is it more like a On demand type thing?

I plan on using this to play FFXIV : ARR

Which recommends:

OS Windows® 7 64 bit
CPU Intel® Core™ i5
Memory 4 GB
Available space on hard disk/SSD 20 GB
Graphics Card NVIDIA® Geforce® GTX 5xx Series, AMD Radeon™ HD 7970
Screen resolution 1920 x 1080

Thanks so much in advance for a straight forward easy to understand response.

It's an APU - basically it's combination processor and graphics card. It's not nearly as powerful as a discrete card, but is very good as far as any other onboard graphics are concerned.

You'll be passing the minimum system requirements just fine. You won't be running maximum settings or anywhere close to the recommended settings, however.

As for turbo, that will happen automatically when the chip is under heavy load.

AMD A6-3420M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics
5606.867MB
AMD Radeon(TM) HD 6520G (VRAM 3047 MB)

Is what I run the Benchmark and Beta client on now.
19.2 framerate
Medium Settings scoring 2-2400
Game plays well enough except in high traffic it will stutter.

Thanks for answering in such a timely manner sir.

The $279 price tag has me looking at this PC. Even if it fell short on Game performance can't beat it for the kids to use. Really waiting for Square Enix to flesh out the final Optimal Specs before I commit to a serious PC as well.
