FLAME ON!!!

What a load of BS!

You are obviously in the pocket of someone. The entire arguement doesn't boil down to just the aero interface. True the pricier versions have aero, but they also include other functionality that the basic version does not. Microsoft failed to mention that these PC's were only vista basic capable. IF they had not used the blanket term VISTA CAPABLE then they wouldn't have found themselves a class action suit.

SO Dr. Spin, Don't make a fool of yourself writing on a site that is full of the technoliterati.

Vista runs like crap on good PC's, even the basic version, everyone knows this. On a crap PC they would be better off having bought a 486 DX-2 50Mhz and installing windows 3.1.

Microsoft did and continue to mislead people about their products, find themselves not compliant with competition laws, and generally do allthe things they don't want other people to do like STEALING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. They just get away without going to jail because they are a CORPORATION not an individual entity.

Vista Capable always was at MS site stated as "minimally capable to running Vista", and not specifying WHICH version. As a buyer, this is clearly a maker advice to care about the buying! Just see:
