Verizon has gotten a little bit of criticism (mostly from the wimminfolk, really) for marketing the DROID the way that it has. The commercials are clearly geared toward men and a lot of chicks don't think that's fair.
Doesn't surprise me. The only really big Android marketing campaign was for the Droid and it clearly was aimed at Men. The design of the Droid also seems to have a more manly appearance, more square with edges.
The iPhone, and all Apple products, have a very feminine/metro-sexual design to them. Apple products are mostly fashion items anyway.
Well I came here to point out the men android women apple thing but thats taken care of... all I have to say now is Futom's comment has to be the first porn related one I've seen that's been voted down...
[citation][nom]amabhy[/nom]Women go for appearance. They buy Apple crap just because 'ooh its shiny'Men know their tech, they know what's good and don't settle for this Apple 'closed-platform' nonsense. They go for whats under the hood.[/citation]
Although a sexist statement, I have found it to be true for the mostpart.
I have to admit, my gut reaction to this was "its official, women are dumber than men." However, I can't really say that when the majority of iPhone users are still men. I guess it means that women are smart enough to not waste their money on expensive smart phones and data plans.
LOL. Someone mentioned how manly the Droid was. It's not with my wife's hot pink hard protective case around it. She loves it. Of course she's special and can figure out a lot on her own unlike most women.
Me: It's what insides that counts. i7/5770 etc.
Father: 450HP is not enough in a car I never use, give meh MOAR!
Mother: Yes dear, remember to wash the dishes.
Cousin: Ohohoh! Those shoes are pink!
So what's the deal? Why can't we have men's products and wimmin's products? Why should everything be equal? Gillette offers separate lines of products for each gender groups so why shouldn't e.g. Verizon?
[citation][nom]chronicbint[/nom]We really need separate comments/news for the US/UK sites. The US comments are mostly fail fanboys.[/citation]
You must mean, "the US commenters are mostly fail fanboys".
Because, well, a comment is just a phrase of words and cannot have a gender, while the originator of the comment can.
Go figure, a UK fanboy fails at the English language. Kinda ironic really.

Well well well, a typical Grammar Nazi, kind of ironic isn't it seeing as how the US fought the Nazi's.
We really need to teach Americans irony and sarcasm poor fellows.
Linux is pretty much a sausage-fest, just like software development is pretty much a sausage-fest, just like all of the hardcore technical jobs(not entry-level IT, but L337 IT) are a sausage-fest, so the fact that Apple's users are either gay men or women and straight guys are using Android isn't really surprising.
Ah here we go again, do you realize how much advertising there is for women? Almost every commercial displays women products, its rare to find a commercial where it actually displays a mans product. And god forbid, this commercial seems to slightly lean more for men and bam you have feminists fighting a war thats already been won years ago screaming "its not equal, you -Have- to display it for women too" The only reason we have sexism in todays world is because there are women looking for it in every corner and making it a BIG deal, thus making everything think "maybe sexism is still a big deal". Feminists won't stop, they'll always find something. And this is just ridiculous, i mean really.. "geared towards men" ... so? Buy the damn product anyways, like a damn commercial will actually make a woman say "Oh jee, thats a mans commercial, I don't want to buy that phone now". Unreal.
