Android Os on HDX?

The OS on the kindle HDX is based on android, so yes it's theoretically possible. To install a pure android build on it, though, you would need either 1) A precompiled android OS built for your device or 2) The source code for it's kernel. If the kernel source code is indeed available, then you would have to compile it along with the source code for android, available on https://android.googlesource.com. This is a long process and many tutorials are available online.

The only problem with this device is that it's bootloader is locked and I think nobody managed to unlock it yet, so you won't be able to install a "aftermarket" firmware (ie. another android OS). You should follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx for any...
