Another New Plan

I don't know if this new plan was posted yet but I came by it by accident
today here in NYC.

I had the 39.95 = 400 minute plan and I wanted to use the "double your
minutes for $20 option to 800 minutes since I was using my phone more
often.

When I went into the center to do it I found out that if I signed another 2
year contract I would get 900 minutes for the $59.95 instead 800. Since I
am not changing providers this was a no brainer and I took the new plan.
The only thing that gets changed is the 2 year extension on the minute plan
not the date you are eligible for a phone upgrade, that stays the same
date.

Also, if you have the 400/39.95 you can add 50 more minutes at no extra
charge for extending the contract also. I am not sure if that is across the
board for all other plans but it pays to check if you are interested in
some free minutes for a new 2 year contract. Like I said, it has NO effect
on the date you are eligible for a phone upgrade.

What if you had not wanted to sign another two year contract? Would they
have let you change your plan minutes to 800 for 59.99 (as on the old
plans) or is that not allowed once new plans come out? Just curious....
