I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm doing a Foundation Audio
course at University, and we have to find information about the
recording of a track of our choice. I've tried a lot of websites, but I
can't find the information that I need.
I'm interested in knowing what type of recording equipment Pearl Jam
used in recording their 10 album, specifically Jeremy.
I'm interested in knowing about the microphones and equipment used and
any techniques that were used during the recording.
Any information would be brilliant. Thanks.

Peace,
Rotae

Mix magazine (to which I no longer subscribe) used to have featured articles on the recording of
classic tunes called "Classic Tracks", I believe. In this, they would interview the engineer(s) and
even band members about the recording of the track in question. Often very informative and revealing
of some of the "not standard practice" innovations they would think up to get things printed to tape.

"Recording Engineer's Handbook" and "Mixing Engineer's Handbook"
by Bobby Owsinski have many detailed interviews with engineers
and mixers regarding various tracks.

Not all recording sessions are documented :)
Maybe you'd do better to find one that IS, then choose a track from
it.
