Desktop Performance for Windows Aero rating too low for my laptop with GT 525M 1 gb dd3
What should i do to improve that score? It shows only 4.8

windows experience index is the most stupid benchmarking system known to mankind, and completely irrespective of real life performance. It's not even proportional: Your 525M gets a gaming score of 6.6, whilst my 6970 gets something like 7.8, even though it's a grand multitude more powerful.

Anyways don't worry about it and just enjoy your shiny laptop! :)

PS: Systems with nVidia Optimus may experience this, as they have 2 graphic cards. Desktop Aero might be done on the efficient but low performance Intel IGP, whilst the gaming graphics might be done on the nVidia 525M. I think my netbook might have the same issue, never looked at it though, never cared. :p

Haha, just checked, my netbook has it too:

Desktop graphics (aero): 2.8
Gaming graphics: 5.5

I'm guessing your laptop has the optimus system then. If you don't know what it is just google it up. plenty of info on it. What it comes down to though is that for non-demanding tasks it uses are more efficient intel chip, and for games a more powerful and powerhungry chip. Increases overall battery life without perfomance sacrifice.

Haha, it has a few little kinks that need to be worked out, but I don't really have any issues with it aside form playing HD flash content on youtube, and then fullscreening it...

Don't really care though, since I have my desktop for everything, netbook is just for walking around, notetaking etc.

Maybe it is a logarithmic scale, not linear.

Hmm, good thinking!

However, why is it that the scale is finite? it goes up to a maximum of 7.9, so, then if you have a 7.9 it's the best that there will ever be?
