Anyone actually replaced the optical drive of the Asus n56vz with an SSD?

I found a thread talking about the possibility of replacing the optical drive of an Asus n56vz with an SSD, but no one said that they had actually done so, and got it to work.

Could anyone let me know if they have succeeded in doing it>

It's extremely rare that I need to use an optical drive. But if I do I have an external USB DVD writer.
