Anyone with a T-Mobile Account?

A collegue gave me a T-Moble Motorola phone that he no longer uses. He
does not have an account with them any longer, and T-Mobile does not
offer service in my state. Customer Service just told me that if someone
with an account would call in with my number (ESIM or something like
that) that they would provide an unlock code over the phone. They were
quite helpful and indicated that doing so would not be a violation of
any of their terms of service.

Could someone who has a T-Mobile account email me privately, allow me to
give them this big number, and call T-Mobile to get them to email an
unlock code? That's asking a BIG favor, but all that it will cost you is
a little time. Thanks!

I wish someone would post the algorithm for the SIM locks or, if it's
not algorithmic, someone would put the list up for download. If you
ask T-Mobile for it, you get an email from a GSM site with the code.
There's a site that'll send you the unlock code for USD 4.95 but, if
you do it as a favor for a lot of people, you can go bankrupt fast.

I'll gladly pay $4.95 for it, if necessary. Do you know what the site
it? I just need the code! People are offering to help, and then I never
hear from them again.

I'll probably be able to get it tomorrow, in the store. If my guy was
using the aol browser, I don't know if there's a "history", but he can
probably find it again. If he was using IE it'll be no problem. I'll
post something (yes or no) tomorrow evening.
