App for media server compatible with Apple TV?

Hey guys, I just moved in with some friends that are pretty into Apple products and they have 2 apple TV's for there TV's. I have Plex media server and just use chromecast to watch it on my TV. I'm trying to figure out a way to be able to stream to the Apple TV and my Chromecast...or if I had to I could get like a Roku or something. I'd prefer not an Apple TV (I'd host the movies and such on mine still or a new box).
Is there a media server out there that is compatible with Apple TV or is it still pretty bare in that sense?

I use ArkMC as a remote control between Apple TV, Plex on my PC and NAS storage server at home,just pick a file you want to stream from the server and share on Apple TV.
