Do you remember when Tom's hardware used to be the place for exceptional reviews of the latest tech had to offer? The most egregious thing that I've seen over the past several years is the overuse of the term "<most popular brand> killers".
You guys have at least 2 a month proclaiming the latest gadget in whatever category falls into this echelon of being. The first time I was like - Woah! The second time I was like - Really?! The third time I was like - Meh. And the times after that I didn't read the article.
The point being, this type of click bait strategy is the very definition of the childhood story "The Boy Who Cried Wolf".
While I understand the notion of "what if it is"? And if it is, you want to be the first to report it - because who cares? People would rather care about something that is actually the case as opposed to someone prognosticating.
