Apple TV 3 LAG

I have an Apple TV 3 and a virgin super hub 3 set to 2.4ghz 300mb 40mhz and 5ghz 1200ac only

My airplay streaming does lag and cut which is frustrating to use it's connected over wireless which is faster than it's 100mb LAN by testing it out myself.

Can anyone advise? Would I need to port forward at all?

Your WIFI may be faster than ethernet on your test, but WIFI is subject to uncontrollable noise. Quick answer from this IT veteran, stick to ethernet. If you insist staying with WIFI, then you have to resolve your WIFI "airway" from all the interferences cause by your other devices, appliances, neighbors.
