When Apple TV gets error code 11800, it means that information stored on the system needs to be refreshed. This is quite normal for an Apple device that spends a lot of time streaming Netflix data. This guide will get Netflix working again with only a few steps needed. It also covers multiple generations of Apple TV.

Restart Apple TV

A restart will refresh the entire device and not just the Netflix application data. No information is lost during a reset if you don’t have anything running.

1. Unplug the Apple TV and the connected TV for a full two minutes.

2. Plug them both back in and turn them on.

Restore The Default Network Settings

Default ISP settings that are changed can cause problems with Netflix. The most common change to make is to the DNS setting. Although some custom DNS settings give a speed boost (Google or Open DNS), they can cause incompatibilities with apps needing to use the network. These steps will set the DNS back to automatic settings.

1. Open the settings app.
