I just bought a used Thinkpad T61 with 15.4" 1280 x 800 screen. The hard drive has 400 days of run-time but the coputer looks like new so its been someones stationary workstation, probably with an external keyboard.

But the screen is a bit yellow, like my other heavily used T61 and I would like to replace it.

Aftermarket displays are available for around $100. Are aftermarket LCD screens crap or are they OK. I learned never to buy aftermarket Laptop Batteries because they have always been useless. Are LCD screens more likely to be equal to OEM ?

Well look at it this way... Do you REALLY think that OEM screens are actually MADE by Acer, Lenovo, Dell or HP? Of course they're not. They're made by companies like HannStar, LG and Samsung. An LCD panel is an LCD panel. If it's the right size, it will work absolutely the same because it too will be made by HannStar, LG or Samsung. It's not like ANY company can manufacture something specialised like an LCD panel. It's like buying RAM. No matter what "brand" the RAM is, there's better than a 1 in 2 chance it's made by Samsung. :sol:
