Are most sanyo tv's compatible to stream from phone

I have a sanyo flat screen tv can I stream movies from my android device to the tv and watch the movie on a larger screen as opposed to squinting to watch on my cell phone screen

I have the yellow red and white cords all attached to one plug in. Can I plug this into my tv then plug them into my phone and I'd have to put the tv on HDMI setting also right to be able to view photos watch videos and control the tv screen from my phone
