Are the specs of my old laptop good enough for Sims 4?

So im currently using my macbook pro to play the sims 4 and its really slowing it down. Ive been considering getting a separate laptop just to play the sims for a while now. I just remembered that I have a really old laptop that the screen cracked on a while back. Maybe i could fix it rather than buying a new one? It's a HP Pavilion m6 Notebook PC. The one with the finger print security and beats sound. I don't really understand specs, i saw the page with requirements but idk if my processor and video cards are better or worse versions.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M CPU
RAM: 8.00 GB
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 7660g

is it worth it to fix it? Or should i just buy a new one? I go the laptop about 7 years ago, haven't used it in about 3/4 years.

Running SIMS on your system should not slow it down, or do you mean it does not run SIMS 4 well? What are the specs on the MAC? If it's recent it is likely faster than that old laptop.
