As I connecting my adaptor with laptop, adaptor light start flickering and laptop is not charging. When I plugged off adaptor from laptop then laptop shut off

How old is the laptop/battery? The laptop works when plugged into the adapter, but just won't charge the battery?

If its anything like my issue then its the current sense pin on the charge port is oxidizing or failing. I have a Msi gt72s and my charge port has the small center pin on a barrel plug, and IDK why manufacturers do this rather than a magsafe connector or it need to be made of gold but it usually fails due to heat of the mobo. My remedy was to use deoxit cleaner but any cleaner should work but do it carefully. Hope this helps
