As i switch on my lappy no items r displaying..only blank screen is seen

Try connecting an external monitor (see manual for how to activate it). If that works, the problem is with the laptop screen or ribbon connector rather than the video circuitry or software.

Try shining a torch at the black screen -- if you can see something, it's a backlight problem.
