Aspire notebook connected via VGA to projector.

Aspire V5-552G laptop connected via VGA to projector (no name Chinese brand LED).
Laptop recognizes device (Non PnP monitor)
However cannot detect or identify.
Resolution on monitor 2 1600x1200, Orientation Landscape & display has been extended.
When VGA connected desktop icons disappear & browsers do not open, with no signal on projector screen.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Drop down to 640x480 to see if the projector works, It should support that resolution at least. then you can start working your way up.
I doubt it will support even 720p;
