astro A40 do i use ther right?

i have astro a40 headphones 2014 but i was wounder that i do get the best voice from them in gaming i use the optical cable to my motherboard my motherboard is g1sniper3 and i wanna know if i do get 7.1 surround sound so please if it just connecting to the optical cable then i good but i hear that i need other programs or something and i don't have realtek high definition audio do i need it too and dolby .

I'm quite sure it is built in to the headphone? Also, as long as your headset's jack can be fully plugged in, you should be fine. Normally I plug it into the case, instead of the motherboad.
