So, my Asus Model Gl551j's Charger now decides to stop at 99% when im charging it. It has been striking the question of weather it is the laptop itself or the Charger thats causing this. So, im curious, would this mean my charger is dying and I need to buy a replacement or would it mean something else?

Thanks :)
EDIT: The charger seems to trigger to stop charging because of 1 of 2 reasons. 1, I switch the power plan. 2, It stops charging due to overheating.

Solution
Hi,

Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to do a battery calibration. Please use the link below for the complete guide.
- If the same problem will persist, do test the AC adapter. Remove the battery and connect it directly to its AC adapter then see if it will power up normally or if it will shutdown or not.
- If the same problem will persist, do try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and see if the same problem will persist or not.
- If the laptop will load normally with just the AC adapter connected that could mean that the battery is already faulty.
