Hi TomsHardware forums,

I received my G550JK three days ago and so far I'm enjoying it. It misses keystrokes sometimes (which is annoying when I'm typing fast) but otherwise seems solid. I got it mainly for gaming. I use a Turtle Beach X12 headset, which needs a headphone and a mic jack. However, the G550JK only has a combo jack. I'm using one of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000067RC4/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 that I have lying around to split the combo jack. I can plug in the X12's cords just fine, and volume comes out through the headset. Problem is, the headset's mic doesn't work - the computer only lets me use the mic inside of it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: Typos from missed keystrokes. Annoying.
Sorry if the wrong forum - I don't know where this would belong.

Hey, hello! i've got a asus laptop with a combo jack too, i have the same splitter (not the same brand tho). My microphone works when, for example i use the splitter and plug my Headset from Razer to my phone. On the other hand, and doing the same thing, my Mic doesnt work on my laptop... Any help?
