I usually run my laptop all the time. It's old. I left for about a week, and when I came back and turned it on, it booted slowly, but finally came up. Long enough for me to log in, most startup programs to load, but then it shuts down.

I've had trouble with overheating, and it gets better with cleaning up the dust. This was different since the computer was cold. I was able to bring up coretemp before it shut down once, and it showed all four cpu's at 100 deg C. It's been on for under 3 minutes.

I replaced the CPU and the same thing happened. Now I've replaced the motherboard, too, and still get the same results.

What connectors to the motherboard feedback any temperature-related information? Something simple to fix, or impossible?

Thanks
