asus laptop battery won't charge new battery new adapter

My laptop is out of warranty. I recently had battery issues or so I thought. I purchased a new battery and new adapter. The new battery was at 45%. While using my laptop the percentage was steadily going down. I plugged in the adapter and the battery percentage was still going down. Now the battery is dead and won't charge. No lights indicating power. How can I check to see if the connection to the adapter and motherboard is a problem

Does the charger has the same spec as you old charger?

Best way to test to see if the charger is work is to run laptop without battery

Yes same specs. I've also used the charger in another device, and it worked. I took the battery out, still no lights indicating power.

It doesn't work without the battery. my original charger was Output: 19V 1.75A 33W, the replacement is 19v 65w,. Would this be a problem
