Is there anyway to fix this? I've googled some info but I don't want to risk my Desktop. I've tried entering the Laptop's serial number on the MS website to get an ISO, but it seems it was pre-installed by the manufacturer. I'm trying to get this fixed for a friend. Keep in mind this laptop does not have a CD drive.

I have also tried using my Desktop's serial number to get and ISO and put it on a USB, it boots up windows and I hit "repair this computer".

Then I get an error saying:

"This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of windows."

Solution
MS will not give you windows for any OEM versions. you need an aftermarket windows key.
If they they not ever make a backup or create their install media then you can contact the manufacturer and purchase it.

I can't see the pictures but hopefully someone can chime in and maybe fix the error
