asus laptop..boots with ubuntu but no display with windows

my asus laptop boots fine with ubuntu but when i boot it with windows, it turns into a black screen although the windows start up sound can be heard (i.e. it boots fine) I understand its a windows problem thats causing no display..any suggestions on how to tackle it?

Hi,

Since you hear that windows did load but there's no display on it try connecting an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it. If you'll get a display from the external monitor, press the Windows key + P at the same time and select Disconnect Projector or Display Only and press Enter. See if you'll get the display back once done.
- If it will not work and it works using an external monitor do a clean install of the graphics card driver.
- Please do follow these guide on how to do a clean install.
