Asus Laptop Charging Problem

Asus is not Charging to 100%. Always it stops at 84. it was fine before. What might be the problem?

Shut down the laptop, remove the battery.

Plug in the charger and start it up.

Once started up - put the battery back and allow it to continue charge.

If it does not, then it is likely the battery is on the way out.
