Question ASUS Laptop Fingerprint Scanner Not Working

I gently wiped down my laptop with a disinfectant wipe and it made contact with my ASUS Laptop's finger scanner. Now it doesn't function properly. When I log in, it says it doesn't recognize my fingerprint. Then, I removed my old fingerprints to try to re-add my fingerprints, and the scanner itself seems messed up. (It automatically scans itself before I touch it sometimes.)

Is there a way to fix the finger scanner?

What should I do?

I'm bummed out because this laptop is fairly new and almost a year old. I bought the laptop from Best Buy in-store.

It could be that what you wiped it down with left a small film which could easily cause this problem. I would check this first and try cleaning it with something like isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue.

If that doesn't work, then I would contact the manufacturer about it not working. If it has been less than a year since purchase then it should still be under warranty.
