Asus. Model X540S. Windows 10. The J and N keys are pressing themselves. I barely managed to log into my laptop by using the onscreen keyboard. A sometimes adds a 0, the backspace key puts a bracket instead. It's [watch your language] annoying to be honest. I'm not sure if it's the internal or external. Help please.
MERGED QUESTION Question from sitasione : "Keyboard messed Up"
I have a Asus laptop running on Windows 10. I just fixed my laptop charger and when I turned on my laptop the keyboard was playing up. The hyphen button keeps on going and going when I'm not even pressing it. I press a and 'a0' shows up. The same with other letters numbers, different things show up. I can't even log into my laptop.
NOTE: If you need to type in a password to even get into Windows to do the following, make sure you attached an external keyboard first, to get past the password. Then disconnect the external keyboard and try the following...
1. Uninstall the keyboard driver.
2. Reboot the computer (without reinstalling the driver).
3. When it restarts, it should reinstall the driver on its own.
If this doesn't work, you may wish to try connecting/reconnecting an external keyboard and see if it works fine. If it does, then it could be the keys themselves that are the issue.
You may also want to try updating the Synaptics Driver if the above doesn't help.
