I want to buy for my bro a laptop for university and a little gaming (gta v,far cry,fifa)
Second one has better performance.I just worry about temperatures.950m needs more power and i5-4200h also consumpts more power than dual i7.So does it mean that temp differences will be remarkable?

The first option with the i5-4200H is actually faster, because it has a higher clock speed. 47W is pretty high, however a GTX 950M is much better than a GT 940M.

Temp wise, I'm not sure. I'm trying to look at the laptop chassis now.

Do you think that high power cosumption of the components will affect significantly the temperatures?

I would get the gtx 950m if gaming the priority. The temps should be ok as long as the laptop is not pushed. The x series are very slim so keep this in mind. The 840m is a better choice if lower settings are not an issue.
