Asus N56J noise usb

I have a new Asus N56J laptop and I've been having a problem recently. When I use headphones and I have something plugged into one of the two usb ports next to the headphone jack I will get a quiet ringing sound in my hears. It's only when I have headphones plugged in and changing the headphones doesn't make a difference. What should I do? Is it a problem that can be fixed?

I would do a few things:

- Make sure the headphone cable is not near a power cable, especially running parallel
- Update the audio driver
- Try a different set of headphones
- Lower the volume of the output
- If none of this works, it is likely an onboard audio issue. I would try a USB audio solution in that case.
