Hello,

My 4 year old laptop's screen hinges are loose. The screen wobbles around when touching it. When opening the laptop, the top plate pops up. I have to put it back in place each time. You can see an example in the videos.

Video of top plate popping up:

I have no real idea and how to fix this. I opened up my laptop to see if anything is wrong, but I don't really see the issue. The back screw on the right side tightens, the one on the left side doesn't tighten anymore.

How the wobble looks like with the parts removed:

The part on the top plate where the right screw goes seems to be broken too. I don't think this causes any problems as the right screw can still be tightened:

Does anybody have any idea how I can fix this?
Thanks!

Hi,

If you're laptop is already out of warranty unfortunately you'll have to DIY it. :) You can use an epoxy to hold down the screw that holds the hinge together. In your case replacing the hinge is not an option since the holes where the screw drive in is already worn out unfortunately and you'll need to replace the back panel inorder for you not to use an epoxy as another options.
