ASUS Notebook pc is playing up.

Once I boot my Notebook, The log-in box is being filled with 9s. They stop when I delete it then I key in my log-in password.

No problem is encountered unless I press either Tab, Alt, Shift, Ctrl, when I do the whole keyboard will cease from working except for the touch pad.

Two ways to make it work temporarily:

1. Dismount the Tablet and remount it.
2. Restart the Notebook.

This works but it is a temporary solution.

Help please?

Thanks

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that I've recommend to others who had the same issue.

- Check keyboard language settings.
- Open Control Panel and look for Region and Language.
- Check all tabs if they are all set to United States.
- If that doesn't work, try pressing those following keys which are not working using your onscreen keyboard (Ease of Access look for Onscreen keyboard)
- Connect an external keyboard and see if the same problem will persist because if does you may need to consider on doing a complete Factory Reset cause it's a problem with your operating system.
- If all these will not work I would suggest replacing the keyboard itself.

Hi thanks for helping out but I find your instructions vague.

Im on windows 8 and region and language are on a separate option. When I click on both of them respectively, I cannot find any tab that I can tick.
