Asus rog laptop

Do they make new gpus for laptops as soon as they come out our do they Wait for a bit... I wanna buy an asus rog gl551jw-ds71 for 674.96 open box.. is that a good price? Or should I wait for the new gpus.. I don't have a laptop at the moment so I can't wait too long

Sounds pretty good, new, they are priced about a grand or more.
