ASUS Smart gesture no mouse

Hi, we have an ASUS laptop, running windows 8.1 and recently I noticed upon start up I lose my mouse altogether once the smart gesture loads. I've tried going into the icon in the tray (which has a read sign on it like a no smoking sign) using my tab and arrow keys but once open I can't navigate in within the window to restore my mouse. I have about 45 seconds after start up before I lose my mouse. Any help would be great please and thank you.

Check the Asus site for an update to that software.

You can disable the software(can disable it from the task manager on Windows 8/8.1) to see if things work fine. It is better to at least have it working for now.
