Asus taichi not powering on

Hi all recently I was given a Asus taichi 21 that had a broken power switch

So I replaced the switch and connected the charger and when the charger is connected the power led on the side shows that the laptop is getting power so when I activate the switch it seams that the laptop tryies to start but cant and then the power led and keyboard back lights go out

What I do know is that the battery is cooked so I was wondering if that would be the cause of this problem

Also I will say that the warranty was void before I got this device

However I didn't have to pay for it so I didn't fuss over warranty's

If anyone could help me that would be great

Try removing the battery (this may require some disassembly) and running the laptop off the charger directly.

Hi it gives out the same problem with the battery connected or disconnected I have tried heaps of things to no avail

It appears that the DC power port or power supply may be damaged. You may have to have the laptop serviced.
