Solved! ASUS vivobook F510uA not booting past ASUS logo

Laptop is an ASUS F510UA with Windows 10 64bit
The problem: The laptop will not boot past the ASUS loading screen, it just continually spins the white dotted circle. I've let it sit for an hour once and it never made it past that screen. I can load the BIOs just fine. I updated the boot priority to original settings, no change. I've tried turning off Fast Boot and it never seems to stay off that setting each time I reset the computer.

Factory warranty is expired because I inherited it from my dad and he bought it back in 2018. If I have to, I'll take it to a shop but I prefer fixing things myself and learning from it.

I hope it's something simple, like just having to replace the hard drive or something.

Any help is appreciated!

Solution
Assuming there is nothing you want to save on the drive, I would first try to do a clean reinstall of Windows. Create an install USB. Do this by following the steps at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10). Select the option to make media for another computer. Boot from that and select a clean install (deleting everything). If the HD is OK, it will work. If not, you will get an error. I would then replace the HD with a new SSD and try again with the install.
