Initially I was having power problems where it seemed like the thing wasn't charging when it was plugged in sometimes, and then eventually one day it was dead and wouldn't charge at all. I removed the battery (which on this unit requires removing the keyboard; it does not require removing the hard drive but initially I did that as well) and then held the power button down for like thirty seconds to clear the capacitors or whatever. Afterwards the machine seems to be charging and powering up just fine.

However, the first time I powered it up, it blue screened and gave me an error "PFN List Corrupt," and then shut down. Now, when I power it on, the display flickers, it beeps once, and then it powers off.

I believe the machine to be largely identical to the X200CA which is more common, the most important similarity being that the RAM is soldered onto the motherboard.

Hi,

Here are some troubleshooting steps that I suggested to others that may help.
- First is to do a hard reboot, remove the battery an unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again.
- If it will still not boot up, remove the battery off the laptop then connect just the AC adapter and see if it will boot up or not.
- Do also try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage.
- Next to try is to reseat the RAM's, remove then all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything is seated properly.
- Do also test each RAM's stick one at a time chances 1 RAM stick is just faulty.
- Another test would be to connect an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it or not.
- And if all these will not work that means the motherboard is the problem already.
- Lastly, do also reset BIOS. Remove the CMOS battery for a second then put it back in then test it again.
