Solved! ASUS X552C won't boot. Weird bleeps

Hi,

My son's Asus laptop has stopped booting and just makes a weird whirring and bleeping sound. Any ideas what this might be. I have tried all the usual solutions.

check if the hard drive is still connected completely in the slot

if yes, then the HDD is faulty

you can check the HDD in a pc to be sure

Hi Thanks for the suggestion I will give that a try as I know he installed an SSD in a caddy in the DVD tray so it might be that.

I will report back.

This sound is typical for mechanical Hdds, not SSDs.

Thank you. I believe he has both mechanical and SSD drives in the laptop so it may still be the issue.
