My parents' Asus X555L (i3) laptop recently failed and I had to replace the PSU and mainboard with items from eBay.
The laptop was happily running a Kingston SATA SSD but the new board (i5) refuses to acknowledge its presence.
The SSD is fine - another PC will boot from it.
The SATA connection is fine - it will boot from an HDD.
I updated the BIOS from v308 to v312 - no change.
Have I missed something obvious?
Thanks.
