Hello

I have a laptop with a completely dead battery that will not power up anymore with the original AC adapter. The 2 green lights are blinking like it is trying to boot up but nothing. The laptop is 14 years old with a new hard drive that was put in about a year ago. We use it to stream to our tv. Any help would be awesome. Thank you

What exactly are you using the laptop for? Is it only streaming and nothing else? If that is the case and your connection to the TV is HDMI, I would suggest you buy a streaming device such as a Roku. That will be cheaper than fixing the laptop.

Your question is a little like saying "my car won't start. What is wrong." Could be many things. My suggestion would be to take it to a repair shop and see what they say. Hopefully, you can find one that is good and fair. Having such as old laptop could also be a problem. Unless you are running Windows 10 (or Linux) you are running an OS that is no longer receiving security updates and is vulnerable. Hopefully, you have no personal info on that computer that you care about.

I am aware it is old and I recently updated to win 10, so no security issues there. You can mark this topic closed because I am getting help somewhere else. Thank you
