Have you installed any new apps, or updated any, just prior to this problem? If so you may want to uninstall them (or remove the update) and see if the problem is then resolved.

If not you should plug in the headphones and go into the settings and see if the device is set to have the default playback device as the speakers. If not, set it to that. Unplug the headset and see if you can hear now.
