Which one is better?

I'm talking about the i5-8250u versions of both. The laptop will be used for general everyday use such as web browsing, MS Office, etc. No gaming.

Spec-wise they are identical so its a tight call, are they priced the same?

if so id go for the ASUS myself, looks a better laptop and the keyboard lights up which can be handy in low light.

Both the laptops cost the same.
HP envy has backlit keyboard. There are many reviews that say that HP ENVY 13 is the best budget laptop, but the screen is not very bright and color gamut is a bit low. I could not find reviews for the Asus laptop. although asus's websites mentions 100% srgb, many other Asus laptop also mention 100% srgb but they reach around 80-90% in reality. I prefer the look of HP envy but Asus might have better screen.

Why not consider the newer Zenbook UX433? Has the same RAM and storage capacity but has the updated i5-8265U processor. Retails at the same (maybe lower?) price as the HP Envy 13, has a larger diagonal, and is rated to MIL-STD durability.
