Hi, I'm looking for the best laptop for college next year. I need something portable and reliable, but also relatively quick, since I produce music and do some light photo editing etc. too (and I'm just impatient). Keeping my search under $1000.

Limiting myself to 256GB would be a stretch. I'm looking for a min. of 500GB storage (ideally SSD) and the fastest processor/RAM for the money, essentially.

I've been looking at the ASUS ZENBOOK UX305FA. I can get it for $850, with 512 SSD, 8GB RAM, and meets all the other criteria. The only thing is, the processor is a Core M Broadwell, which is not too excellent.

Is there something else I should be looking at for the price with a faster processor? The Dell XPS 13 (2015) comes up a lot, but doesn't seem worth the extra $$.

Thanks!
