AT&T will always play “catch-up” in the wireless game. Verizon has the best signal penetration and faster data speeds. Basically becoming the “Yankees” of cellular companies because they invest in their infrastructure, the network. For AT&T to have the audacity to portray testing data speeds on devices that are not reflective of cellphones people use i.e. apps and data on device like an average customer would own, and on a network that had only that device on, of course the speeds would seem high. If you want to know the reality of a network speeds would be test it in real-time with a realistic quantity of devices pulling from a tower and go from there.

Don't rely on unsubstantiated opinions long on attitude but short on factual support. It's not like there are not credible third-party reviews out there, e.g., https://www.speedtest.net/global-index/united-states#market-analysis .
PC-Mag is also working on an updated comparison test for 5G.

From the above-cited test: T-Mobile is the fastest network overall (not Verizon), then AT&T, then Verizon. In 5G, specifically, T-Mobile's speed far surpass both Verizon and AT&T, which are neck and neck (with Verizon having an insignificant mbps download advantage).

Test results for 5G are also highly correlated to location.

NB: I'm an AT&T subscriber w/o 5G (yet) who doesn't really care about 5G . . . .
