Hi,

My devices:
1. Laptop with one HDMI and one 3.5mm Audio Jack
2. Samsung Plasma model: PS43E400U1R with two HDMI ports, none labelled ACR
This TV DOES NOT HAVE AN AUDIO OUT.
3. Sony DVD HT - DAV-DZ290K with one HDMI port

What works now:

Connect the Laptop to the TV using HDMI for picture
Connect the audio from Laptop to Sony DVD to the Karaoke in for the sound

Issues:

The video is good, but the sound is not as expected

Question:
Is there a way to have the sound from the laptop through HDMI, using a splitter to the DVD HT system so as to get good Audio?

If not what are my other options?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

You could use an HDMI audio extractor to provide a digital audio output but your Sony DVD-HT doesn't have a digital audio input so there is no way to connect it. If you want better sound it is time to replace the Sony. Get one with a digital input (and an HDMI audio extractor) or one that has HDMI inputs and outputs.
